In my beloved neighborhood of Powderhorn Park there is some fucked up anti-artist racist bullshit happening that is totally bumming my stone.
I’m really into this reproductive justice driven response to the totally effed (and, yes, racist!) anti-choice billboards.
Speaking of anti-choice bullshittery, this is the ULTIMATE BREAKDOWN of what these anti-choice, anti-sexuality laws really mean: that women are hysterical, lying, infantile, crazy, helpless, and, yes, stupid bitches. I like to take it a step further though and lay it out there like this: abortion laws are a remark on femininity as a whole. When femininity is degraded and we do not actively resist that degradation, we are complicit with patriarchy. Abortion laws are about autonomy and therefore they are absolutely essential to our collective liberation, regardless of whether or not we participate in sexual acts or have the ability to get pregnant. Rights regarding autonomy = gender rights = sexual rights = queer rights = liberation.
